EA Announce Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21 arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X Soon
#1
EA announced today that the next-gen versions of Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21 will skip the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S release dates and become available on both platforms on December 4. PS4 and Xbox One owners who purchase either game or both will receive a digital next-gen copy for free.

As EA mentions on its website, those who purchase a physical copy of either game will have to contact EA in order to redeem their next-gen upgrades. The free next-gen upgrade promotion for both games will expire after the release of Madden NFL 22 and FIFA 22, presumably in the second half of 2021. Initially, EA told May players they had until December 31, 2020 to request free upgrades for both games until a consumer outcry caused them to extend the offer.

As you'd expect in a next-gen game, both Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21 will take advantage of more powerful hardware, such as faster load times, while the PS5 version will take advantage of haptic feedback from the DualSense controller. Technology. EA also confirmed that players will be able to continue their progress and collect items over two generations, including Ultimate Team Mode progression for both games, Madden's Franchise and The Yard game modes, and FIFA's Volta Football mode.

EA's sports series this year offers a different approach than rival 2K Sports' NBA 2K series. Owners of the current version will not be able to get the next-generation version of NBA 2K21 for free; if consumers want to own both versions of the game, they will need to purchase the "Mamba Forever" special edition for $100. 2K's parent company Take-Two Interactive is also the first publisher to raise the price of its next-gen game, which costs $70 for NBA 2K21 itself.
