Apex Legends released a balance patch for all platforms
#1
Apex Legends released a balance patch for all platforms on March 8. Respawn community manager Jay Frechette has been especially communicative via the Apex Legends subreddit. This week, he provided fans with patch notes, and more importantly, insight into Respawn’s philosophy about balance.

Today Respawn has released the first significant balancing patch for Apex Legends, an update that carries meaningful tweaks to two of the game's most powerful guns, the Wingman and the Peacekeeper, and that lays out a plan for changing the hitboxes of three characters.

It’s for that reason that Respawn Entertainment has decided to nerf the guns, the Wingman having several variables affected while Peacekeeper users will only notice a nerf when they’re using a Shotgun Bolt with the item. These guns will also be harder to find now that Respawn has reduced the availability of the weapons. By the way, you can buy cheap Apex Legends Apex Coins from mmocs.com, where you can enjoy a 3% discount by using the code “ MMOCSVIP ”.

Respawn has reduced the fire rate of the Wingman in Apex Legends from 3.1 to 2.6 shots per second. It has also reduced the damage dealt by the Skullpiercer Headshot damage multiplier from 2.5 to 2.25. Meanwhile, the Peacekeeper’s Shotgun Bolt rechamber rate has been reduced across the board, and both weapons will now be harder to find, even in high-tier loot areas.

Respawn also mentioned how it plans to deal with Apex Legends patches going forward as well. Rather than frequent updates, Respawn will update Apex Legends less often with rigorously tested balance changes. The patch notes also mention a few changes that Respawn says it is still testing, but are likely to release when Apex Legends’ first season starts. The largest of these changes are a few nerfs to the best performing Legends in the game — like Bangalore and Wraith — and buffs to the game’s bigger Legends to help counteract their over-sized hitboxes.

Another hot topic of the Reddit post was on the way that the developer as a whole approaches balancing changes and the sort. While some developers prefer to release a ton of patches to balance things out, Respawn prefers to test things adequately and release “better tested, higher impact changes in order to minimize the impacts on your time spent mastering the game.”
